Our Story
Meet our founder, Sandy.
“After a first career in international marketing and strategy, much research and with a little trepidation I set up my wedding planning business, Ternevents, in 2002.
I mastered my craft quickly and went on to design numerous beautiful weddings throughout London and the South East of England.
For 12 of those years I was proud co-owner of the wedding planning industry body, the UKAWP, and have trained hundreds of planners and contributed to their success. In 2018 I stepped down as a director due to family illness, but remain an Elite Member of this wonderful organisation.
Via Ternevents, I still offer 121 wedding planning services locally, however over the years I’ve had an increasing number of brides contact me for advice, but for various reasons they’ve been unable to hire a planner, or sometimes they didn’t want to, but felt they needed some guidance.”
“I started to think about how I could help..
And then, I launched The Emboldened Bride Members’ Club, aimed specifically at those brides planning their own weddings.”
“Listening to brides’ feedback, in 2020 I launched my WedPlan Together course for those wanting a bit more structure to their planning.
I absolutely love sharing my knowledge with a wider audience and helping lots of savvy brides organise their own weddings really successfully.
I’ve always shared with my children the mantra ‘You can be anything you want to be and live the life you dream’. Now I can truly say I’m there myself.
When I’m not planning I love good food, a good book, spending time and holidays with my husband and hanging out with my two grown up kids (when they’ll let me) and our cute Lhasa Apso Rosie and, needless to say, I really do love my job!”
